McLendon Acres Inc (MAI)

MAI is a diverse agribusiness started in 1980 by Marty McLendon.  In 2007 Marty’s son Adam joined the business. Through its network of companies, MAI provides support and management to oversee production on 8,600 acres of crop land which includes cotton, peanuts, corn and soybeans. This season MAI is farming on 86 areas irrigated by central pivot. MAI also grows 200 acres of pecan trees and manages pine forest for timber production and hunting.

MAI is a full service Agribusiness operating on the premise that it is most efficient to be self sufficient in as many aspects as possible. With this outlook, MAI has developed a business plan that allows itself more control over many of the inputs in crop production.

Aside from day to day farming operations, MAI also operate an aerial application “Crop Dusting” business, an agriculture based trucking company, a construction business, and a full scale commodity storage and marketing operation.

MAI believe strongly in sustaining the land and our resources for future generations. MAI work closely with local, state and federal conservation partners to help ensure its crops are grown in a manner that supports current conservation efforts and promotes new and developing conservation initiatives.

MAI is happy to offer an International Internship program to students interested in receiving training and hands on experience in large scale production agriculture.

MAI and AGB Visit look forward to hearing from perspective interns and are happy to answer any questions.
